Job Advert: Recovery Coordinator (Drug and Alcohol Service)

Location: Leeds, West Yorkshire

Pay Rate: £20.00 – £22.00 per hour (dependent on experience)

Contract Type: Temporary (3–6 months with strong opportunities for extension)

Hours: Full-time (standard business hours)

About the Role

Are you passionate about supporting individuals on their journey to recovery? We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Recovery Coordinator to join a well-established drug and alcohol support service in Leeds.

In this vital role, you will work directly with service users to develop personalised care plans, provide evidence-based psychosocial interventions, and empower individuals to achieve sustained recovery and reintegration into the community. This position offers a dynamic working environment with a supportive multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

Case Management: Hold a caseload of service users, conducting comprehensive assessments, risk assessments, and regular reviews.

*

Care Planning: Design, implement, and monitor tailored recovery plans focused on harm reduction, abstinence, and long-term wellbeing.

*

Interventions: Deliver structured one-to-one keyworking sessions and group facilitation focused on substance misuse support.

*

Partnership Working: Liaise closely with clinical staff, criminal justice services, housing providers, and other local agencies to ensure holistic support.

*

Advocacy & Safeguarding: Champion the needs of service users while strictly adhering to safeguarding policies and procedures for vulnerable adults.

Candidate Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria:

*

Experience: Previous experience working as a Recovery Coordinator, Substance Misuse Worker, or Support Worker within the drug and alcohol sector.

*

Compliance: Must hold a valid, enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check registered on the update service (or be willing to undergo one).

*

Eligibility: Full Right to Work in the UK.

*

Skills: Excellent communication, strong crisis management skills, and a non-judgemental, empathetic approach.

*

Availability: Able to commit to a 3-6 month contract starting promptly, with flexibility for extension.
