Reception Teaching Assistant

Location: Northamptonshire
Salary: Competitive daily rate
Contract: Full-Time, Term Time Only
Start Date: September 2026

Are you passionate about supporting young children at the very start of their educational journey? We are working with a welcoming and highly regarded primary school seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their Reception team.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a nurturing school community where children are encouraged to develop confidence, curiosity, and a love of learning from day one. The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers to support pupils both inside and outside the classroom, helping to create a positive and engaging learning environment.

The Role

Supporting pupils within a Reception classroom
Assisting with the delivery of engaging Early Years learning activities
Supporting children's social, emotional, and academic development
Working with small groups and providing 1:1 support where required
Helping to maintain a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment
Supporting pupils with varying learning needs and abilities

The Ideal Candidate

Previous experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting
Understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is desirable
A patient, caring, and proactive approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
