Salary: £39,196–£58,120 per annum (Outer London M1–UPS3)
Salary depends on experience and pay scale position. The maximum salary applies to candidates with substantial teaching experience equivalent to UPS3.
Hours: 8:30am–3:30pm, Monday to Friday, term time only
About the Role
Help children build a happy, confident start to school. Teach Now is seeking a Reception Teacher to join a supportive primary setting in Havering, creating a welcoming classroom where children aged four and five can learn, explore and thrive.
You will deliver the Early Years Foundation Stage through purposeful play, engaging activities and focused teaching. From developing early phonics and number skills to encouraging friendships and independence, your teaching will make a difference to childrens first experiences of school.
This role suits a warm, creative teacher who understands different starting points, establishes positive routines and enjoys working closely with families. Bring your ideas and early years expertise to a role where small steps become meaningful progress.
Key Responsibilities
Plan engaging EYFS learning, balancing child-led exploration with focused teaching.
Develop early language, phonics, literacy, mathematics and personal and social skills.
Observe and assess progress, adapting activities and provision to meet individual needs.
Create a safe, inclusive classroom and work with families and colleagues to support each child.
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and early years teaching experience, including relevant training placements.
Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework, child development and early phonics.
Confidence in planning, assessment and adapting learning for different abilities and needs.
A warm, patient approach, clear communication and a commitment to safeguarding.
The right to work in the UK and willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
