Description:

GSL Education are currently working with an Outstanding Primary School based in Oldham who are seeking full-time Teaching Assistants to work 1-1 and in small groups for pupils with Autism. As a Reception class Teaching Assistant, your primary focus will be on providing one-on-one support to a pupil with Autism. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to implement individualised learning plans and strategies that cater to the unique needs of the child. The school has great facilities & close to public transport, the school’s focus is to give a nurturing approach to learning whilst making learning fun. This friendly school currently has an Ofsted report rated ‘Good’. The role is due to start ASAP for the right individual.
 
Successful applicants will support Class Teachers, ensuring pupils are interacting in the lessons, supporting the children's needs, and encourage their learning. Previous experience in a similar role is desired but not essential.

Salary: £21,000 -£23,000 per annum

Contract Type: Full Time, Temp-Permanent 
 
To be successful you must be able to:

Communicate clearly with Teachers and young individuals
Create an encouraging learning environment for pupils
Be understanding and caring
Carry out tasks involving a computer or hand-device
Remain calm during stressful situations
Work on different activities conducted inside and outside school premises
Understanding of Autism spectrum disorders and familiarity with a range of support strategies and interventions
Have Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards inclusive education
