Overview:

This is an ideal position for a motivated and detail-oriented Supplier Assurance Technologist to join an experienced technical team. This role is key to ensuring the raw materials and packaging meet internal, BRCGS, and retailer standards. You’ll manage supplier assurance systems, conduct audits, and support compliance across our supply chain.

Approve raw materials from concept to launch

Maintain and update raw material specifications and databases

Write QAS and QC Hold instructions for higher-risk materials

Conduct integrity risk assessments and VACCP for food and packaging

Monitor and approve suppliers, including technical query resolution

Review and challenge supplier non-conformances

Audit supplier sites (UK and abroad) and goat farms

Represent raw materials in HACCP, VACCP & TACCP teams

Ensure traceability across the supply chain

Conduct internal audits against BRCGS and customer standards

Stay informed on regulatory and customer standard changes

Support external audits and present supplier approval documentation

The Person Specification:

Self-motivated and flexible

Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills

Strong communication (written and verbal)

Collaborative and systems-driven

Detail-oriented with a proactive approach

Minimum 2 years’ experience in the food industry

Proficient in Microsoft Office and computer systems

Strong initiative, time management, and attention to detail

Passionate about food safety and compliance

Willingness to travel within the UK and internationally

Experience in food manufacturing technical roles

Knowledge of BRCGS and retailer standards

Understanding of UK/EU regulatory frameworks

Food Safety Level 3 and HACCP Level 3

TACCP & VACCP training

Good communication / interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate across departments / suppliers and external customers

Strong organisational, project management and co-ordination skills to assist with critical path deadlines

Can effectively time manage ,working to tight deadlines

Working knowledge of the factory and raw materials currently used on site

Key team player and eager to learn

Hardworking and passionate with an eye for detail

Technical knowledge on food safety and functionality of key ingredients / additives for declaration purposes
