Description:

Are you a B&C Senior Project Manager with reactive framework experience on Network Rail infrastructure?
Job Title: Senior Project Manager
Location: Chesterfield
Rate: £450 - £550 per day (Inside IR35)
Contract: Until March 2027 initially with likely extensions
Start Date: ASAP
Looking for a contract where you can make a visible impact from day one and take ownership of a rail infrastructure framework?
This is an opportunity for an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead a major Network Rail Buildings Framework across the Northwest and Central region. With a significant reactive work bank, multiple live faults, and a demanding client environment, this role requires a strong leader who can provide direction and drive delivery across an established team.
This is not a hands-on delivery role. Instead, you'll be responsible for managing key personnel, improving framework performance, and acting as the senior point of contact for both internal stakeholders and the client.
Where you will add value:
- Leading the operational and commercial performance of a major reactive buildings framework
- Managing and mentoring a team of Framework Support and Works Delivery Managers
- Developing programmes and strategies to manage and reduce reactive fault volumes
- Acting as the key client-facing representative across the framework
- Driving improvements in reporting, communication, and governance processes
- Working closely with commercial and operational teams to improve overall framework performance
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Previous experience operating as a Senior Project Manager on reactive works.
- Strong experience managing reactive works, maintenance, minor works, or framework contracts.
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage operational performance
- Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management skills
- Strong commercial awareness and reporting experience
- Rail infrastructure experience
- Ability to work autonomously and drive positive change within a challenging environment
Why this contract stands out:
- Opportunity to take ownership of a high-profile framework requiring immediate leadership
- Significant influence over operational strategy and performance improvement
- Long-term contract with potential for extension and future opportunities
- Fast interview process with an urgent requirement to appoint
