Intermediate Quantity Surveyor - Residential Housebuilding

Location - Preston

Salary/Package - £45,000 - £55,000 + Excellent Benefits Package

Our client is an established and highly regarded private housebuilder delivering high-quality residential developments across the North West. With a strong land pipeline and continued investment in future developments, the business has built an excellent reputation for quality, customer satisfaction, and long-term growth. As part of their continued expansion, they are now seeking an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team and play a key role in the successful delivery of multiple residential developments.

The Role

As Intermediate Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for:

Assisting with the commercial management of new build housing developments from procurement through to final account

Preparing and managing subcontractor enquiries, orders, and accounts

Producing applications for payment, valuations, variations, and final accounts

Preparing accurate CVRs, forecasts, and cost reports

Monitoring project budgets and ensuring effective cost control

Procuring subcontractors and negotiating competitive packages

Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities

Working closely with Site Managers, Buyers, Technical Teams, and senior commercial staff

Building and maintaining strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants

Ensuring commercial procedures are followed throughout the project lifecycle

The Ideal Candidate

The successful Intermediate Quantity Surveyor will have:

Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the residential housebuilding sector

Alternatively, experience with a Main Contractor looking to move into housebuilding will also be considered

Strong commercial awareness and cost management experience

Knowledge of subcontract procurement and account management

Experience producing CVRs, valuations, and final accounts

Excellent communication, negotiation, and organisational skills

A proactive and commercially driven approach

Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management

Full UK Driving Licence
