Quantity Surveyor, Specialist Finishing Contractor
Salary: £45,000 to £55,000 plus car or car allowance and benefits
The Opportunity
This is a chance to join a long-established specialist finishing contractor with the backing of a larger group. Here, you run your own jobs, your way.
As Quantity Surveyor, you’ll take full commercial ownership of your own portfolio of projects, from pricing through to final account. You’ll lead each job team alongside the contracts manager and foreman, and you’ll be trusted to make the calls. There’s no micromanagement, and no layers of sign-off.

What You’ll Be Doing
Managing a portfolio of around 8 to 10 live projects at different stages
Pricing and preparing tenders
Carrying out site measures, monthly valuations and applications for payment
Producing monthly cost value reports
Managing variations and negotiating final accounts
Working closely with clients, site teams and contracts managers
Taking ownership of anything that needs sorting on your projectsWho We’re Looking For
You’ll be an experienced Quantity Surveyor from a specialist subcontractor background, with a solid track record of running projects commercially from start to finish. Experience in painting and decorating, plastering, drylining, ceilings or other finishing trades is all relevant, and you’ll be supported to get up to speed on anything new to you.
You’ll be organised, commercially sharp, and confident dealing with everyone from site operatives to client directors. You’ll also hold a black or gold CSCS card.
