Synergy Personnel LTD is looking for an experienced and commercially driven Quantity Surveyor to join a strong team in Fareham.

This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive Quantity Surveyor with experience in the façade and roofing sectors to take ownership of the commercial management of projects, from initial pre-construction activities through to final account.

We are looking for someone who can do more than just report on costs. You will play an active role in influencing project decisions, managing commercial risk, maximising profitability and ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and successfully.

The Role

Working closely with our Commercial Manager, wider commercial team and project delivery teams, your responsibilities will include:

* Preparing project estimates, budgets, cost forecasts and financial reports.

* Monitoring project profitability, CVRs and cash flow.

* Identifying, pricing and managing contractual variations and change control.

* Managing commercial activities throughout the project lifecycle, from pre-construction to final account.

* Liaising with clients, attending commercial meetings and agreeing valuations.

* Procuring subcontractor packages, negotiating prices and placing orders.

* Managing subcontractor accounts, payments, variations and final account agreements.

* Identifying commercial risks and opportunities to improve project performance.

* Reviewing contractual documentation and supporting effective commercial management.

About You

We are looking for someone who has:

* A minimum of three years' experience in a similar Quantity Surveying or commercial role.

* Previous experience within the façade and roofing sectors.

* Ideally, a postgraduate qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.

* Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials and relevant regulatory requirements.

* Good understanding of JCT and NEC contracts.

* Experience in cost planning, forecasting, procurement and commercial reporting.

* The ability to identify, value and negotiate variations and final accounts.

* Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and relevant surveying software such as CATO or CostX.

* Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.

* A proactive, organised and commercially minded approach.

What We're Looking For

Above all, we want someone who takes ownership, understands the importance of commercial performance and can build strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors and colleagues.

You will be joining a team where your commercial input will make a genuine difference to project outcomes and the wider success of the business.

Interested?

If you're an ambitious Quantity Surveyor with façade and roofing experience and are looking for your next opportunity, we'd love to hear from you.
