About the Role
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Clerk of Works / Construction Quality Surveyor to join a growing construction and property team. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring construction works on-site, ensuring projects are delivered to the required quality standards, specification, and regulatory compliance.
This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with strong construction knowledge to work across residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Conducting regular site inspections to monitor quality and workmanship
* Ensuring construction works comply with drawings, specifications, building regulations, and health & safety standards
* Identifying defects, non-conformities, and areas requiring corrective action
* Preparing detailed inspection reports and maintaining accurate site records
* Monitoring contractor performance and workmanship standards
* Attending site meetings with clients, contractors, consultants, and stakeholders
* Reviewing materials and construction methods to ensure compliance with project requirements
* Supporting project teams with quality assurance and snagging processes
* Reporting on project progress, risks, and quality concerns to senior management
* Ensuring projects are completed in line with contractual and regulatory requirements
Requirements
* Previous experience as a Clerk of Works, Quality Surveyor, Site Inspector, or similar role
* Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and quality standards
* Experience across residential, commercial, or civil engineering projects preferred
* Excellent attention to detail and reporting skills
* Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
* Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
* Membership with ICWCI, CIOB, RICS, or similar professional body desirable
* Full UK driving licence preferred
