Description:

Are you a QS / Quantity Surveyor with experience of working in the Facilities Management sector or have previous experience of overseeing small and minor works projects within the construction / refurbishment industry? 

This Bristol based Facilities Management company have recently been awarded a new contract in Bristol covering day to day reactive 24/7/365 cover, planned maintenance and project delivery ranging from £1K to £500k each time and are now recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to work solely on the account.

As Quantity Surveyor you will be responsible for the following;

Ensure effective written and verbal communication of all contractual, commercial, financial, corporate and operational issues.

Ensure information and documentation relating to contractual, commercial and financial issues is communicated as required by commercial procedures or contractual requirements.

Undertake valuations and agree applications for payment at regular intervals as set out in the contract documentation and in compliance with commercial procedures.

Issue invoices, prepare project cash flow forecasts, manage payments as set out in the contract documentation and resolve debtor issues that may arise in compliance with commercial procedures.

Oversee the preparation and agreement of priced schedules of work utilising existing schedules of rates which is a key part of the contracted works.

Notify, price and agree variations within required timescales as set out in the contract documentation and in compliance with commercial procedures.

Prepare and submit final accounts within 1 month of the project completion date and obtain written agreement of the account within an additional 1 month in compliance with commercial procedures.

Prepare and submit regular and accurate cost/value reports in compliance with the laid-down commercial procedures.

Manage the commercial aspects of subcontracts in compliance with commercial procedures inclusive of obtaining quotations, evaluating tender returns, appointing subcontractors, issuing subcontract orders, valuing subcontract works and payment, issuing and responding to relevant notices and agreeing subcontract final accounts.

Negotiate prices and obtain quotes for works, materials and plant.

Prepare the budget cost plan for each project and ensure schedules are completed within agreed timescales and that all necessary paperwork is completed accurately

Support the operations team to maintain project expenditure within budget and in compliance with administrative procedures.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

Quantity surveying: 1 year (required)

Facilities management: 1 year (preferred)

Small or Minor works projects: 1 year (required)

Planned & reactive maintenance: 1 year (required)

Schedule of rates (SOR): 1 year (required)
