Description:

Across the infrastructure sector, there is a growing need not only to maintain what already exists, but to renew and reimagine it. No matter where you are in your career, this role offers the chance to grow, develop, and make a meaningful impact. You’ll be contributing to essential infrastructure services that support everyday life, all within a safety‑first, customer‑focused environment that values respect, collaboration, and personal success.

Where will you be working?

You’ll be part of a highways team dedicated to supporting the safe movement of people across the UK. This isn’t just about constructing and maintaining roads and bridges — it’s about shaping a better future and creating long‑lasting social value within the communities served.

As part of the UK’s leading highway maintenance workforce, you’ll work with modern technologies and innovative approaches to deliver effective solutions. The team provides a wide range of services, including planned and reactive maintenance, as well as highway improvement schemes.

If you’re ready to contribute to meaningful, future‑focused infrastructure work, this could be the place for you.

What will you be doing?

* Monthly payment applications — preparing, submitting, and securing approval.

* Contract compliance — ensuring all work aligns with contractual requirements.

* Target cost contract management — developing, forecasting, and mitigating risks.

* Cost control — tracking project costs against budgets and forecasts.

* Cost reporting — compiling and analysing commercial performance data.

* Subcontractor management — preparing packages, valuations, and final accounts.

* Change management — assessing, pricing, and negotiating variations.

* Tender support — contributing to procurement strategies and documentation.

* Project coordination — ensuring accurate cost capture and timely reporting.

* Team collaboration — working across disciplines to support successful delivery.

What you’ll bring

* Minimum 3 years’ experience in Quantity Surveying (infrastructure or civil engineering preferred).

* Degree‑level qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field.

* Knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 target cost contracts.

* Experience with payment applications and commercial administration (CVRs, reporting, etc.).

* Strong analytical and numerical skills, with confident stakeholder communication.

* Proficiency in Excel; familiarity with CEMAR or Causeway‑CPA is an advantage
