Senior Quantity Surveyor
Central London
£50,000 - £70,000 a year – Dependent on Experience [Negotiable]
A cutting-edge Landscape construction company is expanding and is looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor with excellent working knowledge of construction and planning in and around London.
This role will be focusing on the contractual, commercial, and legal management of projects.
Roles & Responsibilities
Contract and project safe-guarding – understanding and implementing all legal checks and managing JCTs
Overseeing plans, managing budgets, bills of Quantities and other documentation
Measuring and estimating for full take-offs
Overseeing valuations for interim application for payment including variation
Overseeing final accounts
Overseeing client cost valuations
Providing advice, forecasts and updates about costs
Pre-contract commercial activities
Preparing contract claims information
Check-in with live sites
Document control
H&S checks
Overseeing Costs and Pricing
Attending on-site meetings
Application for payment
Contractual claims
Awareness of Standard Methods of Measurement
Analysing outcomes and writing detailed progress reports
Knowledge/ Experience:
· A minimum of 10 Years experience as a Quantity Surveyor
· Degree in Quantity Surveying
· Excellent understanding of project costs, as well as labour and material costs
· Knowledge of JCT & NEC forms of contract
· Knowledge of Standard Methods of Measurement
Essential Skills
· IT literacy and Microsoft Office Skills
· Proficient with Construction software
· Highly motivated, high attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to prioritise effectively and be reliable
· Team worker
Experience:
Surveying: min 5 years (required)
Quantity Surveying Occupations: 5 years (required)
Contract and legality understanding
Driving Licence (preferred)
