Job Description:
Overview: As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction projects. You will work closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Cost Estimation and Budget Management:
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labour, and other expenses.
• Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring costs are controlled and project expenditure remains within budget.
2. Tendering and Contract Negotiation:
• Prepare and issue tender documents for contractors and suppliers.
• Evaluate tenders and bids, negotiating contracts to ensure best value for the project.
3. Measurement and Valuation:
• Conduct accurate measurements and valuations of work completed on-site.
• Prepare and submit interim and final valuation reports.
4. Financial Reporting and Forecasting:
• Produce regular financial reports for project stakeholders, highlighting any variations from the budget.
• Forecast future financial performance and cash flow requirements.
5. Risk Management:
• Identify potential financial and contractual risks, developing strategies to mitigate these risks.
• Monitor and manage any changes in project scope, adjusting budgets and contracts accordingly.
6. Compliance and Documentation:
• Ensure all work complies with relevant legal, regulatory, and industry standards.
• Maintain detailed records of all project-related financial transactions and documentation.
7. Collaboration and Communication:
• Work closely with project managers, site managers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
• Provide expert advice on contractual and financial matters.
Qualifications and Skills:
• A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in cost estimation software and MS Office Suite.
• Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
Experience:
• Previous experience working on commercial, or industrial construction projects.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
