£85,000 - £100,000 + £450pm Car Allowance + Mileage + Progression
Are you a Quantity Surveyor with civils or highways experience looking to join a growing family-run business?
Do you want the opportunity to work on major highways and civil engineering projects while playing a key role in the continued growth of the business?
This is an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join an established subcontractor working across London and Surrey, with the potential to develop and eventually build your own commercial team.
This family-run business specialises in highways, civil engineering and groundworks, delivering rejuvenation and maintenance projects for major clients. With turnover expected to almost double, the business is continuing to expand.
In this role, you will manage the commercial side of projects, covering take-offs, NEC contracts, change control, cost management and subcontractor relationships. You will also support junior members of the team and play a key role in securing new projects.
With that, the ideal candidate will have Quantity Surveying experience within civils or highways, strong NEC knowledge, and a proactive approach to commercial management.

The Role:
Managing commercial aspects of civils and highways projects
Managing NEC4 contracts and change control
Completing take-offs, building bills and cost estimates
Monitoring project costs, valuations and financial reporting
Managing subcontractors, suppliers and commercial negotiations
Supporting and mentoring junior Quantity Surveyors
Working closely with project teams to manage commercial risks
Helping secure new projects and supporting company growth
The Person:
Quantity Surveying experience within civils or highways
Strong NEC contract experience
Knowledge of Schedules of Rates and Methods of Measurement
Proficient in Microsoft packages, particularly Excel
Experience with take-offs and cost management
Strong time management and organisational skills
Proactive, motivated and commercially aware
