Job Title: Quantity Surveyor

Office Location: Falmer

Remit: Water Sector Framework

We are recruiting for a Tier 1 Main Contractor who have an opportunity for you to join them as a Quantity Surveyor on their long-term Water Framework based in Falmer.

Job Responsibilities

* Administer the framework contract and associated subcontracts under NEC3/NEC4 (Options A and E), maintaining full compliance with framework and client requirements

* Maintain accurate and up-to-date contract and project documentation to satisfy framework governance and audit requirements

* Prepare and issue Early Warning Notices (EWNs) and Compensation Event (CE) quotations to the supply chain and client

* Attend weekly and monthly commercial meetings at project and framework level, including reviews with the client team

* Monitor change control at project level in line with framework target cost and KPI mechanisms

*
Liaise with the planner/programmer(s) on reactive and planned programmes

* Provide pre-, during- and post-contract commercial support to clients and the supply chain

* Negotiate with, and let packages of work to, the supply chain for sewer rehabilitation, civils and associated activities

* Manage and value variations and Compensation Events across framework work orders

* Prepare and submit monthly applications/valuations in line with the client’s payment mechanism

* Prepare and submit subcontract and framework final accounts

* Prepare and submit tenders for framework call-off and task order work, including follow-up Develop and maintain effective working relationships with relevant client representatives and the supply chain, supporting delivery of framework KPIs and performance commitment

Personal Attributes

Knowledge and Skills required

* Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel

* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with client representatives and the supply chain

* Working knowledge of the water/wastewater industry and sewer rehabilitation techniques is advantageous

Experience required

* 3–5 years’ experience in a quantity surveying role

* Experience working within the utilities, water/wastewater or civil engineering sector is advantageous

* NEC experience

Essential Qualifications

* Demonstrable understanding of both Pre-Contract and Post-Contract work

* Proficient working knowledge of NEC3 and/or NEC4 main and subcontract forms

* Strong written and verbal communication skills

* Strong user of Excel, including charts, pivot tables, lookups and sheet automation • Full, current UK driving license

Desirable Qualifications

* Degree, HNC or HND in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline.

* RICS or CICES membership (or actively working towards)

* Previous experience working on a Water framework/ contract
