Quantity Surveyor – Main Contractor
North East | £60,000–£65,000 + Car/Car Allowance + Benefits
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team of a well-established main contractor, based from their North East office.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join a growing regional operation, working on a range of major construction projects across the North East.
The business has a strong pipeline of work, with projects typically ranging from £15m–£60m across a variety of sectors including residential, industrial, commercial, logistics and public sector.
The Role
The successful Quantity Surveyor will provide full commercial support across projects, working closely with the wider project and commercial teams to ensure projects are delivered to their financial and contractual targets.

Commercial management of projects from procurement through to completion
*
Managing project budgets, cost reporting, forecasting and cash flow
*
Subcontractor procurement, package management and subcontract administration
*
Monthly valuations, applications, payments and measurement of works
*
Managing variations, change control, commercial risk and final accounts
*
Providing commercial and contractual advice to the wider project team
*
Building strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and supply chain partners
About You
We are looking for a Quantity Surveyor with experience working for a main contractor, ideally with exposure to projects of £15m+.

Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a main contracting environment
*
Experience working on projects of £15m+
*
Strong commercial and contractual knowledge
*
Experience with subcontract procurement and package management
*
Good understanding of cost reporting, forecasting and final accounts
*
Experience working with JCT and/or NEC contracts
*
Strong communication and negotiation skills
*
Relevant Quantity Surveying degree or equivalent qualification preferred
