Your new company

A leading organisation within the renewable energy sector is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join its project delivery team on an initial 18-month fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in the successful delivery of a major renewable energy development comprising a large-scale solar farm and battery energy storage project.

Based primarily on-site (hybrid) in Lincolnshire, you will work alongside experienced project and commercial teams, contributing to the commercial success of a flagship infrastructure project.

Your new role

As Quantity Surveyor, you will take ownership of subcontractor procurement, cost control and commercial management throughout the project lifecycle. Working closely with project stakeholders, you will provide commercial insight, manage project costs and support the delivery of accurate financial reporting.

Key responsibilities will include:

Managing the subcontractor tendering process and supporting supplier selection decisions.
Preparing and maintaining project budgets and detailed cost plans.
Producing regular cost reports, forecasts and variance analyses for senior stakeholders.
Reviewing subcontractor applications and issuing payment certificates.
Identifying commercial risks and opportunities and supporting mitigation strategies.
Managing and negotiating variations throughout project delivery.
Undertaking regular site visits to monitor progress and support commercial decision-making.
Building and maintaining strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Capturing and analysing project cost data to improve reporting and future budgeting accuracy.
What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will ideally be a qualified Quantity Surveyor with experience within construction, infrastructure, engineering or renewable energy projects. Commercial project delivery professionals with strong construction-sector experience will also be considered.

You will also possess:

Proven experience in commercial cost management and contract administration.
A sound understanding of the construction project lifecycle.
Experience of subcontractor procurement and tender management.
Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills, with knowledge of MS Project advantageous.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
A full UK driving licence.
Experience relating to ICP appointments would be beneficial but is not essential.What you'll get in return
