Quantity Surveyor – Tunnel Project
Location: Peterborough (Office-Based) Rate: £50 per hour IR35 Status: Outside IR35 Contract Type: Contract
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support a tunnel infrastructure project, based at our client's offices in Peterborough.
The successful candidate must have proven experience working with NEC3 contracts and a strong background in commercial management, cost control and contract administration within major infrastructure, civil engineering or tunnelling projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused Quantity Surveyor to play a key role in managing project costs, contractual obligations and financial performance.
Key Responsibilities

Manage the commercial and contractual aspects of the tunnel project.
*
Administer NEC3 contracts, including compensation events and early warnings.
*
Prepare cost forecasts, valuations and financial reports.
*
Assess subcontractor applications, payments and variations.
*
Monitor project expenditure, budgets and commercial risks.
*
Support the preparation and submission of applications for payment.
*
Manage change control and maintain accurate commercial records.
*
Work closely with project managers, engineers and other stakeholders to ensure effective commercial delivery.
*
Identify and mitigate commercial risks throughout the project lifecycle.
Essential Requirements
*
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor on infrastructure, civil engineering or tunnelling projects.
*
Previous hands-on experience working with NEC3 contracts is essential.
*
Strong understanding of compensation events, early warnings and change management.
*
Experience in cost control, forecasting, valuations and subcontractor management.
*
Excellent commercial awareness and contract administration skills.
*
Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management abilities.
*
Ability to work from the client's office in Peterborough.
