Quantity Surveyor
Location: Preston
Salary: £60,000 including car allowance
Hours: 8:00am-5:00pm
Working Pattern: Office-based

The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join an established and growing construction business based in Preston.
This is a great opportunity for a commercially driven QS looking for ownership, variety and responsibility, with the chance to manage multiple live projects across a diverse range of sectors.
The business works across Commercial, Industrial, Insurance, and Civils, with project values ranging from £100k to £5m.
The Role
You will take commercial responsibility for several projects at any one time, working closely with the operational team to ensure projects are delivered successfully and profitably.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing the commercial performance of multiple projects.
Preparing budgets, forecasts and cost reports.
Subcontractor procurement, tendering and negotiation.
Managing valuations, applications and payments.
Managing variations and commercial risk.
Cost control and cash flow management.
Agreeing subcontractor and client final accounts.
Working closely with Project Managers and site teams.
Identifying commercial opportunities and protecting project margins.
The Ideal Candidate
We're looking for a hands-on, commercially astute QS with 5-10+ years' experience, ideally from a main contractor background.
You'll need to be confident managing multiple projects, dealing with subcontractors and clients, and taking ownership of your workload.
Experience across commercial, industrial, refurbishment, or civils would be advantageous.
Most importantly, you'll need to be comfortable in a fully office and site based environment and ideally live within around 30 minutes of Preston.
