Hyde is looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor.

As a Quantity Surveyor at Hyde, you will be working within Property Maintenance to ensure the effective management of costs related to construction projects and property maintenance. You will be responsible for accurately estimating and monitoring project costs, analysing financial data, and providing valuable insights to support informed decision-making processes.

Responsibilities

* Manage the procurement process for goods and services, including issuing tender documents, evaluating bids, and negotiating contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.

* Analyse financial data and performance metrics to assess project profitability, cost variances, and expenditure trends.

* Monitor expenditure throughout the project lifecycle, identifying potential cost overruns or savings opportunities and providing timely recommendations to mitigate risks.

* Prepare regular reports and forecasts for senior management, highlighting key financial insights, risks, and recommendations for improvement.

* Identify opportunities for value engineering and cost optimisation without compromising quality or functionality.

* Maintain accurate documentation and records to support audit trails and regulatory compliance requirements.

Skills and Experience Required

* Good understanding of construction procurement processes, contract administration, and cost management principles.

* Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret complex financial data.

* IT proficiency, including Microsoft packages and quantity surveying software.

* 5 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor on residential projects.

* HNC/BSc in Building Construction or similar.

* Experience within the housing sector or social housing associations is desirable.
