Skilled Careers are working with a leading property services contractor to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team in Worcester.
The business delivers planned maintenance, refurbishment, compliance and specialist property services across a range of public sector and highly regulated environments, including healthcare, education and commercial property.
This is a great opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor who enjoys having genuine commercial responsibility and is comfortable working across multiple projects within a structured, framework-led environment.
The Role
As Quantity Surveyor, you will take responsibility for the commercial management and financial performance of a range of interior, fit-out and refurbishment projects, typically ranging from £250k to £2.5m+.
Your responsibilities will include:
Managing the commercial delivery of projects from start through to final account
Preparing and reviewing valuations, forecasts and cost reports
Managing subcontractor accounts, applications and final accounts
Managing variations, ensuring accurate pricing and appropriate commercial justification
Preparing budgets, cashflow forecasts and CVRs
Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities
Working closely with operational teams to ensure strong commercial performance
Ensuring compliance with contract requirements, Schedule of Rates and client procedures
Supporting audits, reporting and wider commercial governance
Building effective relationships with clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholders
About You
We're looking for a Quantity Surveyor with a strong commercial background and experience working within property services, refurbishment, fit-out, construction or public sector environments.
You should have:
Proven experience working as a Quantity Surveyor
Experience managing projects valued from £250k to £2.5m+
Strong subcontractor account and valuation experience
Good understanding of JCT and NEC contracts
Experience with cost control, forecasting and commercial reporting
Strong contractual and commercial awareness
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Good Excel and commercial systems knowledge
