Quantity Surveyor – Data Centre Project
Location: Canary Wharf, London
Salary: £60,000 – £75,000 + Package

Move into the Data Centre Market
An excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor with main contractor experience to move into the fast-growing and lucrative data centre sector.
You’ll join a leading contractor delivering a major data centre project in Canary Wharf. Previous data centre experience is not essential. The business is open to Quantity Surveyors from large commercial new-build projects who have strong package management and general commercial experience.

This is a chance to enter a specialist market offering excellent salaries, long-term project pipelines and clear career progression.

The Role
Working closely with the senior commercial team, you’ll manage key packages from procurement through to final account.
Key responsibilities will include:

Managing the commercial delivery of major construction packages
Procuring subcontractors and negotiating terms
Managing valuations, payments and final accounts
Monitoring costs, cash flow and project forecasts
Managing variations and agreeing changes
Producing cost reports for the senior commercial team
Identifying and managing commercial risks
Attending project and commercial meetings
Managing contractual notices and supporting EOT and loss and expense claims
Ensuring company procedures and contractual requirements are followed About the Company

The business delivers technically complex projects across the UK, Ireland and Northern Europe, with a strong pipeline across data centres, life sciences, advanced manufacturing and aviation.

They offer long-term stability, structured development and a clear route to Senior Quantity Surveyor and Commercial Manager.

What We’re Looking For

Quantity Surveyor with main contractor experience
Experience working on large commercial new-build projects
Around 2–5 years’ commercial construction experience
Able to manage packages with support from senior colleagues
Strong procurement, subcontract management and cost reporting experience
Good understanding of construction contracts and commercial risk
Confident communicating with project teams and subcontractors
Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related subject preferred
Data centre experience is useful but not essential Candidates from major office, hotel, residential, healthcare, education, industrial or other large commercial new-build projects are encouraged to apply.

Salary & Package

£60,000 – £75,000 salary, depending on experience
Travel allowance of up to £5,000
5% matched pension
