Quantity Surveyor / Estimator
North Devon | Permanent
£55,000 + Excellent Benefits
Sphere Solutions are working with a successful construction company in North Devon to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to join their established contracting team.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing business delivering a varied portfolio of commercial construction projects, typically valued between £1m and £2m, with larger schemes reaching £10m.
Key Responsibilities include:
* Preparing cost estimates and budgets for commercial construction projects.
* Supporting tender submissions and working closely with the bid team.
* Reviewing and interpreting construction drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
* Liaising with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers and subcontractors.
* Monitoring project costs, expenditure and financial performance.
* Identifying cost-saving opportunities and value engineering solutions.
* Negotiating contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
* Managing valuations, payments and accounts.
* Undertaking site visits to assess progress and verify quantities.
The successful candidate will have:
* Proven experience in Quantity Surveying and Estimating within the construction industry.
* A strong understanding of commercial management, cost planning and financial control.
* Excellent numerical, analytical and organisational skills.
* Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
* Experience using 4PS Construct would be advantageous, although training will be provided.
