Description:

Quantity Surveyor – Residential Main Contractor

Location: Bristol Office / Swindon Project
Salary: £50,000 – £55,000 + Car Allowance + Package
Sector: Main Contractor | Residential | New Build Housing

Quantity Surveyor – The Company

An excellent opportunity to join a highly regarded, established main contractor with a strong reputation for delivering quality residential developments across the South West.

The business has an excellent pipeline of secured work, a supportive management team and a reputation for investing in its people. They offer a stable, professional working environment with genuine opportunities for long-term career development.

Quantity Surveyor – The Role

We are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to take commercial responsibility for a new build residential development of approximately 60 units in Swindon, working from the company’s Bristol office.

This opportunity would suit an established Quantity Surveyor who is comfortable managing their own project, or an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor ready to step up and take on greater responsibility.

You don’t need to be the finished article. The business is looking for someone with a solid commercial understanding, the right attitude and the confidence to take ownership of a project, with support available from the wider commercial team.

Key responsibilities include:

* Commercial management of a 60-unit residential development.

* Procurement and management of subcontractor packages.

* Preparation and management of project budgets and cost forecasts.

* Monthly valuations, applications for payment and cost reporting.

* Managing subcontractor payments, variations and final accounts.

* Preparation and maintenance of CVRs.

* Identifying commercial risks and opportunities.

* Working closely with site management to ensure successful project delivery.

* Maintaining strong relationships with subcontractors and the wider project team.

Quantity Surveyor – Requirements

* Experience working as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor within residential construction.

* Ideally experience working for a main contractor or residential housebuilder.

* Good understanding of subcontractor procurement, valuations and cost management.

* Ability to take commercial ownership of a project, or demonstrate readiness to make that step.

* Strong communication and organisational skills.

* Commercially aware, proactive and keen to develop.

Quantity Surveyor – The Opportunity

* £50,000 – £55,000 basic salary.

* Car allowance and comprehensive benefits package.

* Opportunity to take commercial responsibility for your own residential project.

* Support from an experienced commercial management team.

* Established contractor with a strong pipeline of future developments.

* Excellent long-term stability and career progression.

* Bristol-based business with projects across the region.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor looking for more autonomy, or an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor ready to progress into a project-level role within a supportive and well-established contractor.
