Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our clients team in Glasgow. The successful candidate will have a strong background in affordable housing and/or main contracting. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction projects.

Key Requirements of the Role

1. Cost Management:
- Prepare and manage project budgets.
- Monitor costs and use cost control mechanisms to ensure the project remains within budget.
- Prepare and analyse costings for tenders.
- Manage financial aspects of project procurement, including sub-contractor procurement.

2. Contract Administration:
- Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities.
- Negotiate contracts and work schedules.
- Assess and value work completed on-site and arrange payments.
- Monitor and report on project progress and financial performance.

3. Risk Management:
- Identify potential financial risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and industry standards.

4. Stakeholder Management:
- Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, and other project stakeholders.
- Provide accurate and timely project updates to clients and senior management.

5. Reporting:
- Prepare detailed reports for senior management on project performance.
- Conduct regular site visits to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.

Skills and Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field..
- Min 2 years experience in affordable housing or main contracting.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods and materials.
- Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in cost management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
