Quantity Surveyor for Power Sector Projects
Role Overview:
We are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to manage cost and value reconciliation for various projects. You will need substantial experience with NEC3 or NEC4 (Option A & C) contracts, ideally within the power sector.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead commercial control efforts, focusing on cost and value management.
* Develop and apply subcontracts using NEC3 or NEC4.
* Coordinate with project teams on cost, value, and risk management.
* Handle monthly internal and client reporting.
* Optimize cash flow through activity schedules, valuations, and subcontractor accounts.
* Drive recovery of outstanding payments and resolve queries promptly.
* Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities.
* Prepare cost estimates and manage subcontracts through to Final Account agreement.
* Record and analyze project KPI data to minimize negative impacts.
* Adhere to payment timescales and risk management procedures.
Functional Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with project teams to achieve business goals.
* Maximize profitability while maintaining good client and subcontractor relations.
* Support tender preparation and costing activities.
* Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
* Manage multiple projects and deadlines autonomously or as part of a team.
* Identify and develop new skills and competencies within the team.
* Mentor junior team members and support their development.
Requirements:
* Quantity Surveyor experience.
* BSc or HND in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
* Preferred experience in the Power Transmission & Distribution sector.
* Knowledge of construction methods, technology, and NEC3/NEC4 contracts.
* Proficient in MS Office.
* Ability to read and analyze project programs.
Desirable:
* Chartership or working towards chartership through RICS or a similar institution.
