Quantity Surveyor

Description:

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our esteemed client on a contract basis, focusing on National Highways projects across the South East region. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing costs and ensuring the financial success of highway projects, from initial estimates through to project completion.

Key Responsibilities:
·Prepare, negotiate, and analyze costs for tenders and contracts
·Manage all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction projects
·Monitor and control project budgets, identifying potential cost savings and efficiencies
·Provide accurate financial reporting and forecasting
·Ensure compliance with all contractual obligations and relevant legislation
·Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders
·Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and ensure adherence to project specifications
·Handle variations, claims, and dispute resolutions

Requirements:
·Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor on National Highways projects
·Strong knowledge of highway construction and maintenance
·Excellent understanding of contract law, procurement processes, and cost control
·Proficiency in relevant software and tools (e.g., MS Excel, cost management software)
·Exceptional analytical and numerical skills
·Strong communication and negotiation abilities
·Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
·Relevant degree or professional qualification (e.g., RICS, CIOB)
