Quantity Surveyor – Regional Main Contractor – North & Mid Devon
We are recruiting on behalf of a privately owned, successful regional main contractor based in North Devon. With a strong pipeline of repeat business from long-standing clients, our client delivers a diverse range of new build housing, heritage, commercial, and public sector projects up to £5m in value.
Due to continued growth, they are now seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team on a permanent, office-based role.
Quantity Surveyor Role:
* Office-based role covering projects across North and Mid Devon
* Running 1-3 projects at any one time, depending on value and complexity
* Project values up to £5m across new build housing, heritage, commercial, and public sector work
* Estimating projects before running them commercially through to completion
* Full commercial management from pre-construction to final account
* Preparing and agreeing interim valuations and payment applications
* Procuring and managing subcontract packages, including tendering and valuing works
* Cost reporting, forecasting, and monitoring project profitability
* Managing variations, change control, and contract compliance
* Negotiating and agreeing final accounts with clients and subcontractors
* Liaising with clients, consultants, and site teams throughout the project lifecycle
Quantity Surveyor Requirements:
* Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a main contracting environment
* Experience estimating and running projects commercially
* Experience across new build housing, heritage, commercial, or public sector projects advantageous
* Good working knowledge of JCT and/or NEC contract forms
* Strong communication and negotiation skills
* Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
* Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (or equivalent industry experience)
* Full UK driving licence essential
