Project Quantity Surveyor - Stockton-on-Tees
Salary and Benefits - £45-50K plus car allowance and company benefits

Mech Electrics are resourcing for a talented Project Quantity Surveyor for our client to work on a high-value pharma project located in Stockton on Tees. The successful candidate will report to and be supported by a Regional Commercial Manager, working within a regional delivery team as part of a wider commercial team to manage and control the commercial, financial, and contractual elements of designated project(s). The Quantity Surveyor's objectives will be to maximize project profitability, minimize project risk, and ensure contractual obligations are met.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

Produce accurate project commercial reports and forecasts.
Prepare accurate and timely client valuations.
Manage project sub-contract procurement.
Prepare subcontracts and all required documentation in adherence with business guidelines.
Manage and control sub-contract accounts and variations.
Ensure projects' commercial obligations are administered in accordance with client contracts.
Work closely with site operations and design to identify and mitigate risks and opportunities.
Control change management.
Liaise with Commercial Managers and Project Directors on contractual issues and take action as required.
Attend project and company-related meetings.
Maintain and develop professional relationships with the client to help future business development.

Knowledge, Skills, Education & Experience
Essential:
A formal qualification in Quantity Surveying (BSc, MSc, HND, or other recognized vocational routes such as the "RICS Certificate in Quantity Surveying Practice").
A minimum of 3 years of work experience in the Quantity Surveying sector.
IT literacy with regard to Microsoft Excel, Word, etc.
Desired but not essential:
Experience in one of the following areas: M&E / MEP / building fit-out / building refurbishment / civil engineering.
Experience managing multiple subcontractors on one project.
Experience on projects ranging from £2m – £20m in value.
Familiarity with JCT and/or NEC Suite of Contracts.
Experience and comfort when communicating with all levels of Senior Management and stakeholders.
Ability to influence the project decision-making process.
Experience working with cost management systems such as Navision, Oracle, SAP, Coins, etc.
