Quantity Surveyor

Description:

Our client a successful housebuilder, is seeking a Quantity Surveyor with experience in private housing to join their commercial division, based in West Lothian. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of cost control, from initial estimates through to final accounts, ensuring that projects are completed within budget and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities:

- Preparation of cost estimates and budgets for new projects

- Preparation of tender documents and analysis of tenders

- Value engineering and cost control

- Preparation of interim valuations and final accounts

- Contract administration and management of contractual risks

- Liaison with clients, contractors and other stakeholders

- Preparation of progress reports and financial forecasts

- Cost control and monitoring of project costs

Requirements:

- Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent

- Relevant experience in private housing

- Strong knowledge of construction contracts and procurement

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant software applications
