Assistant Quantity Surveyor / Quantity Surveyor – The Company

The business works in long-term partnership with major housing providers, delivering a broad range of planned and reactive maintenance, voids and decarbonisation programmes across existing housing stock.

Assistant Quantity Surveyor / Quantity Surveyor – The Role

You’ll join the Bristol commercial team, working across a varied portfolio of social housing maintenance and improvement contracts.

The position can be tailored around experience, making it suitable for either an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor ready for greater responsibility or an established Quantity Surveyor looking for a strong regional opportunity.

Typical responsibilities will include:

* Commercial management of planned and reactive maintenance contracts

* Working across voids, planned works and decarbonisation programmes

* Measurement and valuation of works using Schedule of Rates

* Preparation and submission of applications for payment

* Subcontractor procurement and account management

* Cost control, forecasting and commercial reporting

* Managing variations and additional works

* Monitoring contract performance, margins and commercial risk

* Working closely with operational teams and housing-provider clients

* Supporting the commercial delivery of multiple concurrent workstreams

Assistant Quantity Surveyor / Quantity Surveyor – The Person

The successful candidate will ideally have:

* Quantity Surveying experience within a contractor environment

* Experience within social housing maintenance would be highly advantageous

* Good understanding of Schedule of Rates

* Experience using the NHF Schedule of Rates would be particularly beneficial

* Strong numerical and commercial skills

* The ability to manage multiple workstreams and priorities

* A proactive, organised and commercially aware approach

Applications are also welcomed from Quantity Surveyors from other contracting backgrounds who have strong Schedule of Rates experience and are interested in moving into the social housing sector.
