Intermediate Quantity Surveyor - Tier 1 Main Contractor
Location: London
Salary: £60,000-£75,000 + Package
My client, a leading Tier 1 main contractor with a strong reputation for delivering major construction projects, is looking to appoint an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team in London.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven Quantity Surveyor to gain exposure to high-value projects, work alongside an experienced commercial team, and develop their career within a well-established contractor.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the commercial aspects of construction packages from procurement through to final account.
Prepare cost reports, forecasts, valuations and financial updates.
Procure and manage subcontractor packages, including tender analysis and commercial negotiations.
Assess variations, change orders and applications for payment.
Monitor project expenditure, identify commercial risks and support cost control.
Build strong working relationships with project managers, subcontractors and clients.
Ensure contractual procedures and commercial reporting requirements are maintained.
Requirements:
Experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor or reputable construction business.
Good understanding of subcontract procurement, valuations, variations and final accounts.
Strong commercial awareness, negotiation and communication skills.
Degree in Quantity Surveying or a relevant equivalent qualification preferred.
