Quantity Surveyor - Central London
A contractor is looking for a capable Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team on two Zone 1 projects: a £30m Cat A refurbishment and decarbonisation scheme, and a smaller project involving structural modifications, underpinning, a new core and a vertical extension.
You will support the commercial leads while taking ownership of your own subcontract packages. This role needs someone who can procure and manage a package confidently, with the opportunity to build towards wider project responsibility.
The Role
Key responsibilities will include:
Procuring subcontract packages, reviewing tenders and placing orders
Managing package costs, valuations, variations and payments
Tracking change and keeping package forecasts up to date
Supporting cost reporting and commercial meetings
Working closely with the project teams and senior surveyors
Helping close out subcontract accounts What They Are Looking For
An established QS with main contractor experience
Proven ability to procure and manage subcontract packages
Experience in refurbishment, fit-out or structural works would be useful
Strong commercial organisation and clear communication
Someone ready to contribute at QS level rather than seeking an Assistant QS position Salary & Package
£55,000-£70,000 base salary, depending on experience, plus package. The salary bracket is indicative and subject to confirmation.
