Quantity Surveyor

A growing multi-disciplinary consultancy based in Sheffield is looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join its expanding team. The consultancy delivers Building Surveying and Project Management services across the commercial, education, healthcare and public sectors.

The successful candidate will work across a diverse portfolio of refurbishment, extension, conversion and new build projects, predominantly valued between £0 - £5 million and located within approximately one hour of Sheffield. This is an excellent opportunity for a Chartered Quantity Surveyor looking to join a growing consultancy with genuine long-term career progression.

Quantity Surveyor Salary & Benefits:

Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 DOE

Quantity Surveyor Job Overview:

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will provide cost and commercial management across a range of refurbishment, extension, conversion and new build projects. You will work closely with clients, contractors and the wider consultancy team, providing cost advice throughout the project lifecycle and ensuring projects are effectively managed from a financial and commercial perspective.

The role will include:

Providing Quantity Surveying and cost management services across a range of projects

Preparing cost plans, budgets and estimates

Advising clients on project costs and financial implications

Preparing tender documentation and supporting procurement

Analysing tenders and preparing tender reports

Undertaking valuations and assessing variations

Monitoring project costs and expenditure

Preparing and reviewing financial reports

Managing change and assessing the commercial impact of variations

Supporting the preparation and agreement of final accounts

Working closely with clients, contractors and consultants

Attending project and client meetings

Providing commercial advice from project inception through to completion

Quantity Surveyor Job Requirements:

MRICS is essential

Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline

Previous Quantity Surveying experience within a consultancy environment

Strong pre and post-contract experience

Experience across refurbishment, extension and/or new build projects

Strong understanding of procurement and tendering

Excellent cost management and commercial awareness

Strong report writing and communication skills

Confident client-facing professional

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Full UK Driving Licence
