Quantity Surveyor – Planned Maintenance

Location: Hertfordshire

Sector: Property Services / Social Housing

Contract: Permanent

An established property services contractor is looking to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team, working on a long-term framework delivering planned maintenance and refurbishment works across London. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing team working on a long term framework, with a strong pipeline of works across a number of London boroughs. 

The Role

As Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the commercial management of works from initial procurement through to final account.

Managing the commercial performance of planned maintenance contracts.

Preparing valuations, applications for payment and final accounts.

Managing variations, costs and commercial risks.

Producing CVRs and regular commercial reports.

Managing subcontractor accounts and payments.

Working closely with operational teams to ensure projects are delivered commercially and efficiently.

Monitoring project performance against budgets and forecasts.

Supporting procurement and supply chain management.

Maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.

Ensuring works are accurately measured and valued in line with contract requirements.

Working extensively with Schedule of Rates.

About You

We're looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a background in planned maintenance, property services, social housing or refurbishment.

Proven experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within property services or a similar environment.

Strong Schedule of Rates experience is essential.

Experience managing commercial performance across multiple workstreams.

Strong understanding of valuations, variations, subcontractor accounts and final accounts.

Good commercial and contractual knowledge.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Strong Excel and IT skills.

Ability to work effectively with operational, commercial and client teams.

Experience working on long-term frameworks, social housing or council-led programmes would be highly advantageous.
