We’re supporting a respected civil engineering contractor in the North East who is looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to manage commercial delivery across a range of civils and infrastructure projects. This role suits a confident QS who can work closely with operational teams, manage subcontractor accounts, and ensure projects remain financially controlled from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities

Cost Management: Lead cost control, forecasting, and financial reporting across multiple civils projects.

*

Subcontractor Accounts: Manage subcontractor procurement, payments, variations, and final accounts.

*

Measurement & Valuations: Complete accurate measurements, valuations, and monthly applications.

*

Commercial Reporting: Produce CVRs, cost plans, and financial updates for senior management.

*

Contract Administration: Ensure compliance with NEC/JCT contracts, maintaining accurate documentation.

*

Site Collaboration: Work closely with Site Managers and Engineers to align commercial and operational progress.

What You’ll Bring

*

Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering or construction.

*

Strong understanding of groundworks, drainage, utilities, structures, highways, or public realm.

*

Excellent numerical, analytical, and communication skills.

*

Ability to manage multiple subcontractor packages and maintain commercial control.

*

Degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying preferred.

*

CSCS card advantageous.
