Quantity Surveyor

Location: Oldbury, West Midlands

Salary: DOE + Car Allowance

Job Type: Permanent | Full Time

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established property maintenance and refurbishment contractor delivering planned maintenance and repairs across the social housing sector.

This role offers the chance to play a key part in the commercial success of multiple projects, working closely with operational teams, clients and subcontractors to ensure works are delivered profitably and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the commercial aspects of planned maintenance and refurbishment projects.

Prepare and submit applications for payment.

Price variations and manage project valuations.

Monitor project costs, cashflow and profitability.

Review and manage Schedule of Rates (SOR) data.

Finalise completed works to support timely invoicing.

Manage subcontractor accounts, variations and payments.

Procure best value from subcontractors and suppliers.

Produce accurate cost forecasts and financial reports.

Identify commercial risks and support project teams with contract compliance.

Prepare quotations, estimates and loss & expense claims where applicable.

Ensure all commercial processes are completed accurately and in line with contractual requirements.

Requirements

Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within construction or property maintenance.

Strong knowledge of NHF Schedule of Rates.

Experience with JCT, NEC and NHF forms of contract.

Understanding of Price Per Property and Target Cost contract models.

Social housing experience is desirable.

Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills.

Strong IT and financial reporting skills.

Full UK driving licence preferred.
