Description:
Experienced Quaity Technician required for precision engineering company based on the outskirts of Plymouth. The successful candidate will primaily be involved in inspecting Aerospace components so knowledge and experience of inspecting to AS9100 standards is essential. You will also be responsible for inspecting components manufactured for Defence, Oil and Gas and Medical industries.
Key Responsibilities:
* Inspecting and final inspection of Aerospace components to AS9100 quality Standards.
* Involvement in internal audits to AS9100 and ISO9001 quality standards.
* Use of lean six sigma tools such as SPC, APQP, PPAP, FMEA etc to identify route cause analysis and advise on corrective actions.
* Inspection of components manufactured for Defence, Oil and Gas and Medical industries.
* Use of Metrology equipment such as CMM’s, Callipers and height gauges.
Essential Experience / Qualifications and Attributes Required:
* Quality Assurance & Engineering experience within the Aerospace industry or an understanding of AS9100.
* Familiar with 1st off, patrol and final inspection of precision & complex machined components, sample inspection and visual acceptance.
* CMM experience is essential (Programming Aberlink CMM and Micro-Vu Vision systems would be an advantage, but full training will be provided).
* The ability to read and understand complex engineering drawings (GD&T).
* Experience in the use of metrology equipment such as Mics, Callipers & Height Gauges.
* Basic PC skills such as Excel and Word.
* Experience in compiling inspection reports (AS9102 Rev B FAIR’s would be an advantage).
* Basic understanding of SPC, APQP, PPAP and/or Six Sigma quality tools.
The successful candidate must be able to commit to a weekly rotating shift comprising of the following:
* Day Shift – Monday to Thursday 07:00 to 15:30 and Friday’s 07:00 to 13:00.
* Late Shift – Monday to Thursday 15:30 to 01:30.
