Job Title: Quality Technician / Quality Inspector

Location: Sandwich, Kent

Salary: £DOE

Hours:

Week 1: Monday to Thursday 08:00 - 16:45

Week 2 : Monday to Thursday 08:00 - 16:45 / Friday 08:00 - 16:30

Role Summary:

You will support the inspection and quality engineers through the inspection and testing across three stages of manufacturing. Other areas will include calibration of measuring equipment, supporting the First Article Inspection process, conducting internal audits and practical problem solving to improve processes and procedures.

Christmas ShutdownKey responsibilities within your new role would be to:

Perform inspections including the creation of dimensional reports for new or modified components.
Ensure dimensional reports or First Article Inspection (FAI) packages are completed and filed correctly.
Operate CMM using established programs or techniques to support inspection of components including creation of programs (ideally using Aberlink software) if required.
Management of stock in and out of the inspection process including rejecting items.
Monitor calibration and ensure equipment is continually calibrated to schedule.
Resolve quality issues through the structured application of problem solving and root cause analysis.
Complete internal product and system audits, perform any necessary duties as an internal auditor.
Support supplier quality engineer or inspection during busy periods or times of absence.Experience and skills required for this position:

3 years' experience in quality inspection, metrology and CMM.
Experience using various mechanical inspection tools, such as micrometres, calipers & CMM.
The ability to interpret engineering drawings and use required equipment to confirm inaccuracies.
A strong work ethic, effective time management abilities and good organisational skills.
Build relationships and work with cross functional teams.
Ideally you will have experience manufacturing in a high value, low volume setting.
Be an effective communicator both written and orally.
Have working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Access.
Have good time management and organisational skills.
Have the ability to prioritise work and have a flexible approach to handling unexpected events.
Have the ability to complete FAIR's.
Have an understanding of ISO standards e.g. 9001 and/or AS9100.
Hold a NVQ/HNC/HND (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline
Hold an ISO 9001 or AS9100 internal auditor qualification.
Have a positive 'can do' attitude
Be motivational and accountable
Full current driving licence and a valid passport is required.
Due to the nature of this business all candidate will be required to undergo security clearance at SC level.Next steps:
