Quality Technician

Description:

Smart Solutions are recruiting for a Quality Technician on behalf of a global manufacturer based near Aberdare. You will be responsible for supporting the Quality Engineer & Manager in maintaining the quality on site. You will need to ensure that the processes and testing are carried out to the highest of standards, as well as support upcoming projects and trials.

Working Hours: 3 shift pattern - Monday - Friday, 7am - 3pm, 3pm - 11pm, 11pm - 7am

Key responsibilities:

You will be ensuring that we are adhering to the customer’s standards as well as regulatory standards for Quality compliance. Individual needs to be confident to stop production and flag any concerns if any quality breaches are identified.

Duties:

· Communicate identified and reported Quality issues to the Management Team. Assist in the resolution of issues using a structured approach and analytical toolset to give a consistent and robust result.

· Continuously Improves the product quality Improvement Projects to enhance the performance in these areas.

· Aid with the transfer of new products into production, ensuring good manufacturing practices are implemented, and appropriate quality standards are considered at inception.

· Assists with test results, analysing for trends, in order to proactively avoid issues before they occur.

· Maintaining the Quality area, cleanliness, storage and document control.

· Able to accurately input quality data using Excel and word and input data throughout the shift.

· Ensuring equipment is within Calibration – Weigh Bins, Scales.

· Flag any Quality concerns or issues to Quality Engineer and assist with any Root Cause Analysis / Investigations / Management of change that may take place.

· Check any Raw materials delivered to the site before entering the production area.

· Assisting with any re-work or returns, ensuring that they meet specifications before leaving the warehouse.

· Roll out training quality documents and specifications to staff members.

· Carrying out tensile / Light Transmission / Weight / Print / Colour testing daily throughout the shift and recording data.

· Assist with Trials by carrying out Data Collection.

Experience Requirements:

· GCSE level of higher expected (Math’s and English A–C required). A technical background will be advantageous.

· Understanding of Quality and Manufacturing Best Practices

· Practical use of root cause analysis tools.

· Experience in a Quality role in a manufacturing environment

· Experienced with ISO14001 & 45001

· Can demonstrate process improvements

Experience preferred but not essential

* ISO9001 auditing

* Quality Management methods

* Lean Six Sigma Green / Black Belt or other Quality Management methods preferred

Salary and Package

* £28,000 - £30,000 DOE

* 28 Days Holidays including bank holidays

* Pension up to 7%
