Description:

We are an award-winning company and one of Europe's leading designers and manufactures within the engineering sector. We employ over 250 staff with our manufacturing plant spanning over 5 units in Frimley, Surrey.  We have a new and exciting opportunity for a Quality Manager to establish and lead our first company-wide Quality Department. This is a pivotal role within organisation as you will champion a culture of quality, ensuring it becomes are focus across all department while overseeing people, procedures, and processes within the department, driving your team to meet and exceed business targets.

Working Monday to Friday 8.30am – 5pm with an early finish on a Friday at 2.30pm, we can offer a salary of £48,000 - £58,000 for this role, profit share bonus scheme paid twice yearly, enhanced salary sacrifice pension, retail discounts, two paid volunteering days per year, cycle to work scheme, gym discounts, car maintenance scheme, saving, investments and debt advice, voluntary private healthcare plans and more.

As the Quality Manager your role will report into the Managing Director and work alongside procurement, manufacturing and production and oversee the quality team with key responsibilities including:

Quality Culture: Promote a ‘Culture of Quality’ where quality is everyone’s priority.
ISO9001 Quality Management: Oversee the ISO9001 Quality Management System, including audits and accreditations. Define and maintain the company’s quality procedures, standards, and specifications.
Supplier Quality Management: Work with the Procurement Team to establish and maintain quality requirements for external suppliers. Manage the Supplier Audit and Performance Monitoring program, contributing to the supplier approval process. Support Procurement and Goods In Teams in resolving supplier quality issues.
Manufacturing QC/QA: Oversee problem resolution, trend analysis, scrap reduction, rework, concession approval, and non-conformance management. Provide training, tools, and techniques to meet quality standards.
Customer Quality Audits: Manage and respond to customer quality audits.
Quality Performance Metrics: Monitor and analyse quality performance metrics to identify trends and implement corrective actions.
Customer Complaints: Investigate customer complaints and implement measures to prevent recurrence.
New Product Introduction (NPI): Define requirements for new product testing, FMEA, and production QA processes

Leadership and Communication: Lead by example, demonstrating Amazon’s Behaviours and Values. Clearly communicate key messages and goals and enhance the team’s reputation within the company.
Recruitment: Manage the recruitment process and ensure a successful induction of new team members.
Objectives/Goal Setting: Establish and agree on SMART objectives for individuals and the team, tracking performance accordingly.
Performance Management and Training: Conduct appraisals, provide regular and constructive feedback and address performance and conduct issues promptly and constructively with HR support. Identify and promote training and development opportunities.
Absence Management: Manage sickness and annual leave in line with company policy.
Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
To be successful for this role you will be an experienced and innovative Quality Manager with a proven track record in quality management and a state-of-the-art approach to quality assurance. You will have a strong background in a quality function within a manufacturing environment and demonstrable experience in all aspects of Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001, etc.) People management experience, including performance management and familiarity with common Quality Management/Continuous Improvement tools (SPC, FMEA, 5S, problem-solving tools, etc.) are essential.

You will ideally be degree educated in an engineering, science, or a business discipline and have experience working in a GMP or process industry environment.
