Quality Manager / Lead Inspector
Location: Poole, Dorset
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 (DOE)
Type: Permanent, Full-time
A well-established precision engineering business is looking for an experienced Quality Manager / Lead Inspector to take ownership of its quality function, supporting customers across the Aerospace, Defence and Nuclear sectors.
This is a hands-on leadership role, managing the Quality function while remaining involved in inspection, metrology and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and develop the Quality team
Maintain and improve AS9100 / ISO9001 systems
Manage internal, customer and supplier audits
Handle NCRs, concessions, 8D reports and root cause investigations
Carry out dimensional inspection and CMM programming
Lead FAI activities and maintain quality documentation
Manage calibration and supplier quality
Drive continuous improvement and promote a strong quality culture
Requirements
Previous Quality experience within precision engineering/manufacturing
Strong knowledge of AS9100 and/or ISO 9001
Experience within Aerospace, Defence or Nuclear desirable
Ability to read engineering drawings and understand tolerances
Strong metrology/CMM experience
Experience with NCRs, 8D and root cause analysis
Previous leadership or team-leading experienceDesirable: AS9102 knowledge, machining/welding experience, ERP/MRP experience and internal auditor training
