£40,000 Per Annum

TM Scotland are excited to be recruiting for our brand new client based in the heart of East Kilbride who are a leading provider of high-quality red meat products.

Our client is looking for an experienced Quality Manager to work with their team in Heysham, who has worked in a similar environment before to add to their team on a permanent basis, following successful virtual interview with TM and the client directly.

What will your duties and responsibilities be as a Quality Manager?

Lead and manage our site Quality team to achieve overall objectives.

Ensure all customer, company, and legislative specifications and quality requirements are within the scope of the QMS.

Conduct internal audits of systems.

Collaborate with the site Technical Manager (TM) to develop and maintain an effective QMS and Food Safety Plan.

Play an active role in the site HACCP team.

Support the site TM in administering technical KPIs.

Investigate customer complaints and other non-conformances to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.

Support the engagement of customers' technical teams.

Manage regulatory contact involving food hygiene and standards legislation.

Manage third-party accreditation requirements.

Maximize team performance, efficiency, and service levels and drive employee engagement.

Develop enhanced and future-fit employee skillsets and flexibility.

Support trainee development to ensure a 'next-generation' workforce.

Ensure all Scotbeef products meet Food Safety & Brand Integrity requirements defined by high-profile customer requirements & BRC standards.

What skills and experience do we require to be successful for the position?

* Prior experience in food production management, ideally as a Quality Manager or Supervisor.

* Demonstrated ability to champion and uphold rigorous quality standards, leading by example within the team.

* Proven track record of being results-driven, with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to think strategically.

* Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, at all levels of the organization.

* Strong facilitation and motivational capabilities, empowering teams to achieve excellence.

* Flexibility, adaptability, and a commitment to fostering the professional development of team members.

* Proficiency in managing people, influencing others positively, and resolving conflicts effectively.

* Accreditation in Food Hygiene and HACCP, preferably at Level 3 or above, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of food safety principles.

* Desirable qualifications include experience with BRC standards and TACCP/VACCP protocols, indicating a deeper knowledge of industry best practices.

* A solid understanding of Health & Safety regulations and the ability to ensure compliance within the workplace.

* Good numeracy skills, essential for tasks such as data analysis and reporting.

* Proficiency in spoken and written English, facilitating clear communication and documentation within the team.

* Demonstrated ability to thrive under pressure and in fast-paced environments, maintaining composure and effectiveness.

* Proactive problem-solving skills and the initiative to address issues promptly and effectively.

* A quick learner with the ability to grasp new concepts and systems efficiently, contributing to continuous improvement efforts within the organisation.
