Haringey Council is one of 32 boroughs in London. Haringey is an extremely diverse borough, and the Council has set clear ambitious objectives through its borough plan to make Haringey a better place to live, encourage investment and create opportunities that all can share. Haringey’s vision for the future is one of sustainable growth, in housing and jobs and on helping our residents and businesses take advantage of that growth. We have got huge ambitions for Haringey. As the shape of local government continues to change, we are determined to rise to the challenge and find new ways to ensure that our residents enjoy the best opportunities in life. Working at Haringey gives you the opportunity to play a part in meeting those ambitions on behalf of everyone who calls the borough their home.

About the role

Haringey Learns is on the lookout for a Quality Manager, a role that will be pivotal in shaping the service's development in the years to come. Haringey Learns is a lively, bustling adult community education service located at the heart of the borough. It is building upon its numerous strengths to evolve into an exceptional learning organisation. The Quality Manager will collaborate closely with the new Principal and the senior management team to provide strategic leadership during this exciting phase for Haringey Learns. This will involve strengthening external partnerships with communities across the borough and cultivating internal collaborations within the council. These endeavours aim to empower residents by facilitating access to employment, training opportunities, and avenues for personal growth. In addition to these responsibilities, the post-holder will oversee the continuous improvement of overall quality standards, the development of policies and procedures, and the management information systems (MIS) team.

Working for Haringey

At Haringey Council we are committed to creating a workplace culture where all our people feel valued, included, and able to be their best at work, and we recognise the benefits of a diverse workforce so welcome applications from all ethnicities and communities so that we continue to make a difference to our residents and community.  Our benefits package includes a leave entitlement of 31 days + bank holidays, potential hybrid working opportunities, health and wellbeing support, a generous local government pension scheme and a range of discount schemes across leisure and culture that provide both financial and money-saving discounts.

About you

We are looking for a candidate with energy, attention to detail, and who deeply values adult community education. You will have an understanding of funding requirements, Ofsted and inspection frameworks, and the current context of adult community education both nationally and within London. You will be able to support and nurture change, in both systems and people. You will have strong IT skills (for digital processes within quality, exams and management information) and the 5Cs of our transferable skills (creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, communication and the 'core' skills of organisation, independent working etc.)

About the team

The Quality Manager is a member of Haringey Learns Management Team, consisting of the Principal, the Curriculum Managers, the Business Manager and special project managers.  Collectively they work together to oversee the strategic direction and operational delivery of the service. The Quality Manager oversees a small quality, exams and MIS team that supports the curriculum, business and frontline services elements of Haringey Learns
