Quality Inspector / Quality Manager – Precision Machining
Location: Bradford
Job type: Permanent, full-time
Salary: £20 – £23 per hour (overtime available)
Hours: Monday–Thursday 7:00am–4:00pm, Friday 7:00am–2:30pm
The opportunity
ABS Talent is recruiting a Quality Inspector / Quality Manager on behalf of a well-established precision machining client. This is a great opportunity for an experienced quality professional to join a precision machine shop, ensuring machined components meet customer specifications, engineering drawings and industry standards.
You'll play a key role in supporting continuous quality improvement — identifying defects, documenting findings, and working closely with machinists and engineers to resolve issues.
The role
* Perform first article, in-process and final inspections on precision machined components
* Interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
* Verify dimensions using precision measuring equipment, including micrometers, verniers/calipers, dial indicators, height gauges, bore gauges, surface plates and CMM (as applicable)
* Document inspection results clearly using company documentation
* Identify and communicate non-conforming product and support root cause analysis
* Work with machinists and production staff to correct dimensional issues and feed back on quality trends
* Assist in maintaining the calibration and cleanliness of inspection equipment
About you
* Proven experience as a Quality Inspector in a precision machining / engineering environment
* Confident interpreting engineering drawings and technical documentation
* Skilled with precision measuring equipment (micrometers, verniers, gauges, surface plates, etc.)
* CMM experience an advantage
* Strong attention to detail with a methodical, quality-focused approach
* Good communicator, able to work closely with machinists and engineers
