About this position:
My client is an engineering consultancy that helps their customers accelerate the development and deployment of Net Zero engineering solutions for their customers in the mobility sector and beyond. They deliver complex engineering designs and specialist manufacturing programmes to the automotive, aerospace, marine, defence and clean energy sectors.This client is massively growing and are looking for a Quality Inspector to perform CMM and mechanical inspection(s) of products to determine conformance to specification and drawing.
Responsibilities:
* Programming and operation of coordinate measuring machine (CMM) running latest iteration of PC-DMIS software
* First off inspection of machined (5 axis milled/turned) workpieces
* Dimensional inspection of a variety of components to Prodrive and other customer drawings and specifications – often to tight tolerances and with safety critical characteristics
* Use of various mechanical inspection equipment (Shadowgraph, Height Gauge, Thread Gauges, Micrometers etc.) to verify product conformity
* Laser marking of components with part and traceability details
Experience Required:
* HNC or Equivalent in an Engineering discipline preferred
* Ability to program (on & offline) and operate a CMM running PC DMIS software (2019 onwards) is essential
* Ability to operate and Romer/Faro inspection arm an advantage.
Knowledge and experience of IATF / TS 16949 / ISO 9001 tools and techniques
* Exposure to automotive/aerospace/defence or motorsport industries
* Knowledge of inspection equipment and techniques
* Extensive understanding of engineering drawings and geometric tolerancing
