Location: West Manchester
Salary: £20.32 per hour (£792.48 per week)
Hours: Full Time, Permanent
Reporting To: Quality Manager

About the Opportunity

Winsearch is recruiting on behalf of a well-established engineering manufacturer serving the offshore oil and gas sector. Due to continued growth, our client is seeking an experienced Quality Inspector to join their quality team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a precision engineering environment. Working closely with Quality Engineering and Production teams, you will play a key role in ensuring products meet exacting quality standards throughout the manufacturing process.

Key Responsibilities

Perform goods-inward, pre-paint, in-process and final inspections.
Inspect components against engineering drawings and specifications.
Use a range of precision measuring equipment, including:

External micrometers
Internal and 3-point bore micrometers
Depth micrometers
Verniers
Gauges and associated inspection equipment

Complete dimensional inspection reports and related quality documentation.
Carry out visual inspections to identify defects, damage, burrs, weld spatter, paint quality issues and marking discrepancies.
Approve and sign off inspection documentation.
Stamp and identify completed parts in accordance with quality procedures.
Undertake minor rework activities where required, including paint touch-ups and thread tapping.
Support packing and assembly activities as needed.
Work efficiently to production schedules and customer deadlines.
Collaborate effectively with colleagues across quality, production and engineering functions.

What We're Looking For

Essential Experience

Minimum of 2 years' experience in a quality inspection role within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
Proven experience using precision measuring equipment.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Strong understanding of inspection processes and quality standards.

Desirable Experience

Knowledge of machining processes such as turning, milling and general precision engineering.

Qualifications

GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent).
Good IT skills with experience using Microsoft Office applications.

Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.

Working Hours

39-hour working week

Monday to Thursday: 06:45am to 3:15pm
Friday: 06:45am to 2:15pm
