Job Title: Quality Engineer - Quality Events & CAPA Specialist

Location: Witney, Oxfordshire

Salary: £40,000 - £57,000 per annum (Depending on experience)

Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Category: Quality Assurance / Engineering & Compliance

About the Role

Are you a critical thinker with a sharp eye for detail and a passion for risk mitigation? We are seeking a dedicated Quality Engineer specializing in Quality Events and CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action) to join our compliance-focused team in Witney.

In this high-impact role, you will be responsible for investigating process failures, identifying true root causes, and designing robust, systemic solutions to prevent recurrence. You will act as the internal expert on risk assessment, deeply understanding the liabilities and operational impacts that stem from non-compliance.

Industry Flexibility: While a background in highly regulated engineering or manufacturing (such as medical devices, pharma, or aerospace) is fantastic, we are highly open to individuals with a firm quality/compliance background in Construction, provided you possess strong, transferable risk-management and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Lead thorough investigations into defects, non-conformances, and quality events using structured methodologies (e.g., 5-Whys, Fishbone diagrams, 8D, or Fault Tree Analysis).

CAPA Management: Design, implement, and own robust corrective and preventive action workflows to optimize process failures and ensure long-term compliance.

Effectiveness Verification: Establish clear metrics and review protocols to verify that implemented corrective actions have successfully prevented repeat failures over a sustained period.

Risk Assessment: Proactively evaluate workflows and engineering changes to assess potential compliance risks and liabilities before they impact production.

What We Are Looking For:

Experience: A firm, proven background in Quality Assurance or Quality Engineering, with hands-on experience driving CAPA processes and continuous improvement initiatives.

Industry Background: Regulated manufacturing, engineering, or a solid quality background within the Construction sector.

Core Skills: Strong critical thinking, proactive problem-solving, and a deep understanding of QMS tracking systems and international quality standards (e.g., ISO frameworks, GxP).

Education & Certifications: A degree (or equivalent qualification) in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline. Professional certifications (e.g., ASQ CQE/CQA or Lean Six Sigma) are highly advantageous.

Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to clearly articulate technical compliance risks and solutions across all levels of the business.

Benefits & Site Perks:

Onsite parking

Electric vehicle charging points

Subsidised canteen

Free premium coffee facilities
