Working within a complex, fast-paced construction environment, you’ll be embedded on-site alongside delivery and construction teams, playing a key role in ensuring quality standards are achieved across all phases of mechanical and piping installation.

This is a highly visible, hands-on position offering genuine responsibility, stakeholder influence, and the opportunity to make a measurable impact on project delivery outcomes.

The Role

You’ll be at the centre of project execution, ensuring mechanical and piping systems are installed, tested, and commissioned to the highest standards.

Key responsibilities include:

* Reviewing and interpreting P&IDs, isometrics, welding procedures, and technical specifications

* Conducting inspections covering piping, welding, hydrotesting, flange management, and pipe supports

* Reviewing Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), establishing hold/witness points, and ensuring quality processes are implemented effectively on site

* Collaborating closely with construction teams, subcontractors, vendors, and client representatives to drive quality performance

* Managing non-conformances and ensuring robust corrective actions are implemented

* Maintaining quality documentation and compiling handover dossiers for system completion

* Supporting vendor inspections, SATs, and regulatory compliance activities

About You

We’re looking for someone with strong technical capability, excellent site awareness, and a practical delivery-focused mindset.

You will ideally have:

* A background in Mechanical or Process Engineering

* Strong knowledge of piping systems, welding processes, and mechanical equipment installation

* Experience working within QA/QC and construction environments on large-scale industrial projects

* Good understanding of UK compliance standards and legislation including PSSR, PE(S)R, and CDM Regulations

* Experience managing inspections, quality records, and construction quality documentation

* Professional certifications such as CSWIP, API, CWI, or ISO 9001 Auditor qualifications would be advantageous

What’s on Offer

* Long-term contract opportunity on a major live project

* High-profile site environment with significant project exposure

* Collaborative and technically challenging setting

* Opportunity to influence quality standards on a critical industrial programme

All applications will be handled in the strictest confidence
